Gene Milligan Dymondwood Soprano D whistle review (Review written May 2009) Preface I try to make it out to the North Texas Irish Festival every year. I also own 4 Oz whistles some Gene Milligan whistles and a full set of Syn Whistles (among others). It is a type of fipple flute, putting it in the same class as the recorder, Native American flute, and other woodwind instruments that meet such criteria. I also own 4 Oz whistles some Gene Milligan whistles and a full set of Syn Whistles (among others). And although they are each beautiful in their own way, they are made from quite simple designs (unlike, for example a Burke whistle).
